Sales to Organizations and Individuals
SynapTECH sells and ships products within the boundaries of the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii and to APO or FPO addresses, United States territories and protectorates including Puerto Rico, and to any nation served by Federal Express. International shipments may be delayed by customs officials in the receiving nation, and may be subject to duties and taxes. Whenever possible, SynapTECH will estimate duties and taxes, and include these estimates in your notification of shipment. Any duties and taxes are solely the responsibility of the receiver of the goods. SynapTECH respects and observes all international laws, treaties and procedures imposed by other nations, and these may affect the availability of certain products in certain regions. Sales to Education Customers only
SynapTECH focuses on providing goods and services to customers in the K12 (Kindergarten through Grade 12) Education and HED (Higher Education) market segments. Sales are generally restricted to organizations which are recognized as public, private, parochial or charter schools, 2-year, 4-year and postgraduate public and private colleges, technical and vocational training centers, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations including day care providers and Head Start programs, libraries, other Federal, state, local, county, city or regional organizations which are engaged in education or the support of educational organizations, their employees, agents, contracted service providers, and the staff and students of such organizations. SynapTECH recognizes that Apple is not always able to meet the needs of those who require specific Apple parts and accessories, and will try wherever possible to meet the needs of those non-education customers who otherwise have no effective access to such products.
General Information about Product Returns
If you are not satisfied with your SynapTECH purchase, please call (800) 617 7865 to obtain information about how to return your product, within 14 calendar days of your receipt of it. If the item is returned unopened in the original box, we will exchange it or offer you a refund based on your original method of payment. The product must be returned to SynapTECH within 14 calendar days of the issuance of an authorization to return it. All products must be packed in the original, unmarked packaging including any accessories, manuals, documentation and registration that shipped with the product.
A 10% open-box fee may be assessed on any opened hardware or accessory. If you purchased your order other than by using a major credit card, you may be asked to provide Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover information in order to facilitate this 10% open-box restocking fee.
PLEASE NOTE: SynapTECH recommends that you
- use a carrier that offers shipment tracking for all returns and
- either insure your package for safe return to SynapTECH or declare the full value of the shipment so that you are completely protected if the shipment is lost or damaged in transit. If you choose not to
- use a carrier that offers tracking and
- insure or declare the full value of the product, you will be responsible for any loss or damage to the product during shipping.
Please note that the United States Postal Service (USPS) offers limited tracking capabilities and that there is a 30-calendar-day waiting period before the USPS will initiate a trace.
Dead on Arrival (DOA) Product: system failure out-of-the-box
A hardware product is considered dead on arrival if it shows symptoms of a hardware failure, preventing basic operability, upon its first use out of the box. If you believe that your product is DOA, please call (800) 617 7865 within 30 calendar days of the invoice date. Our technical support personnel will determine whether the product is DOA and offer you the following options:
Replacement: The same product that you ordered will be shipped to you at SynapTECH’s expense. SynapTECH technical support personnel will set up a replacement order and provide the procedure for returning the DOA product.
Service: You may have the product repaired; however, once serviced, the product may no longer eligible for replacement. Product must be deemed DOA by SynapTECH technical support personnel within 30 calendar days of the invoice date in order to receive a replacement unit under the DOA provisions of this policy.
DOA Terms and Conditions
This DOA policy applies to all hardware products currently offered by SynapTECH. You need not contact the manufacturer directly with any third-party product issues. SynapTECH will repair or replace you unit during the warranty period. As new products are offered, SynapTECH reserves the right to determine whether or not this policy applies.
If the product is deemed DOA by SynapTECH technical support personnel more than 30 calendar days after the invoice date, SynapTECH’s standard product warranty will apply.
If the product is deemed by SynapTECH technical support personnel NOT to be DOA, SynapTECH’s standard product warranty will apply.
Shipping will be arranged at SynapTECH's expense for all products determined by SynapTECH technical support personnel to be DOA. SynapTECH reserves the right to test returned DOA product. If the condition of the product is misrepresented by the customer, SynapTECH may impose a handling fee equal to 50% of the value of the product, or no less than $ 49.00.
Defective Items: Apple-branded Products
If you discover what you believe is a product defect for any Apple-branded product, please contact us at (800) 617 7865. Such a defect, if any, is covered under the terms of your product’s Apple Limited Warranty. SynapTECH will facilitate this exchange or repair, and under most circumstances, will ship a replacement product directly to you. SynapTECH may require additional information from you in order to ultimately seek a replacement product from Apple to replenish its’ stock. Please refer to the warranty information and other supporting documentation that came with your Apple product if you have any questions regarding Apple's Limited Warranty.
Defective Items: Third-party Products
If you discover what you believe is a product defect for any third-party product, please contact us at (800) 617 7865. Manufacturer's warranty policies vary greatly from one manufacturer to another, and from one product to another within product lines offered by any single manufacturer. Unlike other resellers, SynapTECH will facilitate an exchange or repair, and under most circumstances, will ship a replacement third-party product directly to you. Please refer to the warranty information and other supporting documentation that came with your third-party product if you have any questions regarding warranty coverage for that product.
Electronic Software Downloads
SynapTECH does not currently offer electronic software downloads.
Proof of Purchase
SynapTECH will send you a confirmation of your order via electronic mail when you place your order. If we are unable to deliver a message to you, you will receive a confirmation of your order via facsimile or by regular mail when your order is shipped.
Custom-configured Products
We are pleased to offer product that is custom-configured to your specifications, and we encourage you to review your order carefully. Since the product is built to your specifications, the order often cannot be changed, modified, or canceled once your order is in production. Please contact us at (800) 617 7865 if your requirements change or if you issues arise regarding a custom-configured product.
Purchase Orders
SynapTECH accepts purchase orders from recognized public, private, parochial and charter schools, from governmental agencies and from businesses engaged in providing support to such organizations. Please include your requisition number, purchase order number or other unique local control number in the box labeled Special Instructions or Comments About Your Order, FAX a copy of a purchasing document to us at (541) 342 7867 or call us at (800) 617 7865 with this information. Failure to do so may delay the processing or shipment of your order, particularly for those customers without an established order history.
Credit Card
SynapTECH accepts American Express, Discover, Mastercard and VISA credit, purchasing, debit and check cards. If you choose to pay by credit card, SynapTECH may obtain a pre-approval from the credit card company for the amount of the order. Actual credit card billing does not occur until your order ships. In the event of a split or delayed shipment, your card bill be billed for only the actual product shipped and applicable shipping charges for that portion of the order, not for any remaining balance of the order.
PLEASE NOTE:
- SynapTECH engages in an aggressive credit card fraud prevention program, which includes—but is not limited to—card holder name, account, address and credit card security code verification procedures.
- We are able to accept credit cards issued by banks outside of the United States though, under some circumstances, order processing may be delayed by verification procedures.
- Debit cards and check cards have daily spending limits which may substantially delay the processing of your order.
Credit Card Security Codes
SynapTECH may require the credit card security code for your card for any telephone or online purchase. The credit card security code is an individual three-digit or four-digit number specific to your credit card that may be printed on the face of your card above the embossed account number - if American Express - or on the back of your card, on the signature panel - if Discover, MasterCard or VISA. Asking for and confirming your credit card's security code helps validate that you - and only you - are in the possession of your credit card and protects you from unauthorized use of your account.
Cashier's Check or Money Order
SynapTECH accepts money orders, cashier's checks, and organizational and business checks as valid forms of payment. If you wish to pay by cashier's check or money order, you may order by phone at (800) 617 7865. The cashier's check or money order must be payable to SynapTECH and include your web confirmation number or a copy of your order. Please mail your payment to:

SynapTECH must receive your payment within 10 calendar days or your order may be canceled. Please allow 1 business day for order processing after SynapTECH receives your payment. Such payments must be made in advance of shipment, as Federal Express cannot generally handle COD transactions in a manner considered satisfactory to SynapTECH. We urge you, whenever possible, to pay for your order using a valid credit, debit or prepaid card.
Wire Transfer
SynapTECH accepts bank wire transfers as a valid form of payment. If you would like to use a wire transfer to pay for your order, contact us for instructions.
Sales Tax
Because SynapTECH is located in Oregon—a state without any form of sales tax—products purchased from SynapTECH are generally construed not to be subject to any local, city, county, regional or state tax which otherwise might be applicable in the location to which such products are shipped. Orders placed with SynapTECH are not subject to Federal taxes. Some jurisdictions may require that requisitions, purchase orders or other purchase documents account for any otherwise applicable sales tax, but SynapTECH will not charge such fees or taxes, nor shall it collect, account for or remit any such taxes on its’ order confirmations, invoices, statements or other forms to any organization, individual or governmental entity or taxing authority. Any duties and taxes imposed by the customs officials of other nations are solely the responsibility of the recipient. Whenever possible, SynapTECH will provide an estimate of any such duties and taxes at the time the order is shipped.
Tax-exempt Orders
If your order is being placed on behalf of a tax-exempt organization or individual, as is the case for most purchases from SynapTECH, please provide the organization’s tax registration number in the box labeled Special Instructions or Comments About Your Order or call us at (800) 671 7865. Be prepared to provide a state tax-exempt number for your organization for the state where the product is being shipped. The organization name on the order must match the state tax-exempt certificate. Federal tax exemption certificates are accepted where applicable. All claims of exemption are subject to confirmation by SynapTECH.
Shipping Options
SynapTECH offers these shipping options:
- Standard Shipping: This option is available on all orders over $500.00 at no additional charge. Products shipped via standard service are normally delivered within one to five business days after shipment via FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery, depending upon the distance the delivery location is from SynapTECH’s fulfillment center. SynapTECH reserves the right to waive the minimum order value required to qualify for free ground shipping, though in any event, any increase in this value will not apply retroactively to orders already placed prior to a change in policy.
- Two-Day Shipping: For an additional charge, we offer this expedited shipping option on most of our products. Products shipped via FedEx Economy Two-Day service prior to 3:00 pm Pacific Time are normally delivered by 4:30 pm local time, two business days after shipment.
- Overnight Delivery: For an additional charge, we offer this expedited shipping option on most of our products. Products shipped via FedEx Standard Overnight or Priority Overnight service prior to 3:00 pm Pacific Time are normally delivered by 3:00 pm local time one business day after shipment. Priority Overnight shipments may arrive as early as 8:00 am, and are generally delivered no later than 10:30 am to most recipients. Overnight delivery is not available for orders shipping to Alaska and Hawaii.
Signature may be required for delivery: Most of our shipments contain valuable computer equipment. If you will not be at the shipping address to accept delivery of your product, consider shipping the item to an address where someone you trust will be available to sign for your package. Please note that we are not able to adjust the shipping address once a package has left SynapTECH’s Eugene OR fulfillment center. Title and risk of loss for all products will pass to you upon delivery.
Residential and Out of Area Delivery Surcharges: Packages delivered to residential, non-home business addresses are subject to a surcharge. Packages delivered to some rural addresses may also be subject to an out of area delivery charge. These surcharges are calculated in the cost of shipment presented to you by the FedEx rate server at the time you place your order. To avoid such charges, consider having your package delivered to your work or school location, or another urban or suburban commercial address. Such surcharges to not generally exceed $ 3.00 per shipment, for either condition under which they may be imposed.
Discounted Rates: SynapTECH receives generous discounts from Federal Express, which vary by carrier, shipment service level, weight and destination. These discounts are passed on to you in the form of deeply discounted charges for shipment, particularly for FedEx Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight, Two-Day Economy, International Priority, International Economy and FedEx Freight shipments. FedEx Freight rates are not automatically quoted, but typically approach a 50% discount from standard published rates. Please call (800) 617 7865 or (541) 342 7865 or submit a request via electronic mail for heavyweight shipment rates. All shipments are subject to a fuel tax surcharge which is built into the quoted rate, and generally ranges between 18 -21% of the cost of shipment. The rates presented to you are based upon the package weight and destination information you provide when placing your order, and reflect the discounts offered by Federal Express to SynapTECH.
Undeliverable Packages: Occasionally packages are returned to us as undeliverable. When the carrier returns an undeliverable package to us, please contact us to make arrangements for reshipment. Returned packages may be subject to a restocking or order cancellation charge.
Failed Delivery Attempts: Most carriers - including our preferred carriers: Federal Express, FedEx Ground and FedEx Freight - will make three attempts to deliver a package. Unless the customer or SynapTECH intervenes, after three failed delivery attempts, the package will be returned to us.
Order Processing
The estimated shipment date on your order is based on product availability, payment processing and warehouse processing time, and does not include transit time. Payment processing will not begin until we receive all the information we need and full payment or a full authorization, in the case of purchase orders and orders placed on net terms. Orders placed on the weekend or on a holiday will begin payment processing the next business day.
Orders for in-stock items that are eligible for same-day shipping must be received before 2:00 pm Pacific Time, pending payment processing. Orders placed on the weekend or on a holiday will begin payment processing the next business day. Unanticipated changes in supply can affect product availability.
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays. Some of our products may be drop-shipped from other locations, particularly on large volume orders. Overnight and Two-day shipping may not be available for such orders. Drop shipments are subject to product availability at remote warehouses, and may be delayed due to additional processing time required by stocking distributors, and on large orders - the availability of LTL shipment space.
Pricing and Price Revisions
SynapTECH endeavors to offer you competitive prices on current Apple and third-party products, and on many discontinued items. Your total order price will include the price of the product (on the day your order was placed, unless this price has declined on or before the day your order is shipped) plus any applicable shipping charges. SynapTECH does not charge sales tax on orders placed with it.
SynapTECH reserves the right to change prices for products displayed on this site at any time. Should SynapTECH reduce its price on any shipped product within 15 calendar days of shipment, you may contact SynapTECH at (617) 7865 to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. To receive the refund or credit you must contact SynapTECH within 30 business days of shipment.
Product Availability
Order lead time is the length of time it takes us to validate your purchase order information or credit card data, assemble the correct products and package your order. Shipping time is the length of time it takes for a package to travel from our warehouse in Eugene OR to the shipping address you provided on your order. SynapTECH makes every effort to ship your product according to the estimated lead times provided by our order system at checkout. The estimated lead times are in expressed and measured in business days (Monday through Friday) excluding Federal Reserve holidays. Lead times will begin the following business day for orders placed and credit cleared after 2 pm Pacific Time. Any lead times quoted on the checkout page are for orders that are partially shipped, meaning that items ship as soon as they are available. If you have requested a complete shipment, please add three to five additional days for transportation and order consolidation processing.
Although every effort is made to ship your order according to the lead time provided, shipping dates may change due to changes in supply. If the lead time changes, SynapTECH will contact you via electronic mail and provide a revised shipping estimate.

Given the popularity of some products, SynapTECH may temporarily restrict the number of such items that you may purchase. SynapTECH will make every effort to avoid invoking this clause, and will contact you regarding your order if such a requirement arises.
SynapTECH endeavors to stay at the forefront of technological advancement, while continuing to support technology long ago abandoned by Apple and third-party manufacturers. For this reason, SynapTECH reserves the right to discontinue products without notice.
All Apple hardware products carry a one-year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. You may review a copy of the Limited Warranty on Apple products, including its limitations and exclusions, before you purchase, by reviewing a current copy of the warranty at The Apple Store, at store.apple.com.
Third-party products carry their manufacturers' standard warranties. If you have questions about any manufacturers' warranties that accompany such products, please contact the manufacturer directly.
